Now that spring is making an appearance, children and parents are probably getting antsy and needing some outdoor time. Well look no further! Here is a fun way to enhance your child’s fine motor skills, creativity and to encourage self-expression.
My idea is that this activity could be done with just the children or as a family activity. I know I will be heading out as soon as my yard is not a pond, to do this with my children. I’m actually excited to see what the children come up with as their ideas and creativity come to life. I’m curious as to what gives them inspiration and would love to see the excitement on their faces when they complete their final pieces.
Shadow drawings is a fun and interactive way to spend some time outdoors during these trying times.
You just need:
Pencil, chalk, markers (anything your child would like to use)
Subject of choice: toys, blocks, trees, family members.
All you need to do is make sure the subjects are in the sun, casting a shadow onto the paper to trace and Voila! Instant fun!
Stay safe and take care.
