I'll show you how easy it is to make these 10 minutes treats. I made it for my daughter’s birthday. The kids loved fluffy inside and crunchy outside marshmallow lollipops. These can be stored on the counter for at least a week. The candy coating protects the marshmallow from drying out.
candy melts (color of your choice) from Wilton (can be found at Walmart, Michaels and other craft stores)
lollipop sticks (I used 6” ones)
colored sugar sprinkles or whatever kind of sprinkles you choose Basic Candy-Coated Marshmallow lollipops
cup or glass (for placing the marshmallows lollipops in to dry)
Step 1. Put candy melt in the bowl (each color in the different bowl). Next, put the bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds mix the candy melt. You might need to put 30 seconds more and mix.
Step 2. Dip one end of the lollipop stick into the melted candy, lay the marshmallow on a flat surface and press the lollipop stick into the center of the marshmallow. Making sure you go straight in. Transfer to a plate for 5 minutes or until candy is hard.
Step 3. When candy is hard, dip the whole marshmallow into the melted candy. Use a spoon to help cover the top (the portion with the lollipop stick). If candy has cooled too much put it into the microwave for 30 seconds to melt it again.
Step 4. Tap the edge of the bowl to get any excess melted candy off.
Step 5. As soon as the marshmallow has been dipped in the melted candy use a spoon to sprinkle on the colored sugar making sure to cover the marshmallow completely.
Step 6. Place finished marshmallow in an upright position (I used glass). Make sure they don't touch each other when you place them in the glass. Put the container with marshmallow lollipops in the refrigerator for 5 minutes or until hardened.
NOTE: Don’t use white chocolate with food coloring because after you melt candy and add food color, the chocolate gets too thick and hard to use. The chocolate candy will not melt any more.
They are delicious! Your kids will love it.
