Moon Sand

This was by far my own children’s favorite material to play with when they were younger. Add some toy cars, trucks, spoons, and animals and they will have fun for hours! This activity is great for sensory exploration and fine motor development as the children squeeze and squish the sand to build. You can use it indoors or outdoors in a large tub or on a baking sheet. The possibilities are endless!

For those that are unaware, Moon Sand is a type of sand that sticks together. It's a little like a combination of playdough and sand. It's a great sensory experience for children. It can be purchased in many toy stores, but you can make your own.

Instructions:

1/4 cup baby oil for every 2 cups of flour

Mix to make as much as you want and store in an airtight container

Knead with your hands to break up any clumps and have a blast!
