Home Made Shakers
Infants are so fascinated in discovering the sensory properties of their world. Sound in particular is so much fun for them to explore!
An easy way to encourage this exploration of sound is to create shakers. You will probably be able to do this with items that are already laying around the house!
I created four shakers by using empty cosmetic containers (plastic containers and bottles will also work), refilling them with items such as beads, dried beans and rice and then sealing them closed by crazy gluing the lids on. Once the glue is dry and the lid is secured, it’s time to play!
