Coloured Salt Dough

During this time of staying at home, salt dough is a good choice for keeping your children’s arts and decorating your children’s room. Using this recipe for Colored Salt Dough, your children can create vibrantly colored sculptures that can be baked.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

To Make Colored Salt Dough, You Need:

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1 cup salt

  • 1/16 teaspoon icing food coloring

  • 1 cup water

  1. Combine 2 cups flour and 1 cup salt in a bowl

  2. In a separate bowl, combine 1/16 teaspoon icing food coloring with 1 cup water.

  3. Add the water mixture to the dry ingredients and knead until well mixed.

  4. Shape the dough into whatever you’d like. If your children would like to keep one of her designs, you can bake it in a 200F over for 2 or more hours or let it air dry.

  5. Store unused dough in an airtight container. It will keep for several days.
