Sensory Bags

Sensory bags are a fun and safe way for infants to explore texture and sounds. They are also very easy and inexpensive to make!

I like to make 3-4 sensory bags that contain items with differing properties, so that it offers the little ones more opportunity to explore and compare. You can put Items like glitter gravel, pompoms, buttons, or even natural items like shells and pinecones inside. Putting brightly coloured water that has been dyed with food colouring makes the sensory bags even more fun to look at and play with.

When the bags are ready, make sure they are sealed tightly and reinforced with tape. You can then tape it to the floor or another accessible surface. I like to tape the sensory bags to a window, because the sunlight makes the dyed water look so cool!
