Rainbow Rice

This activity changes plain white rice into any color rice you want it to be. Let your imagination go wild. You can experiment by adding different colors of food coloring into the bag and creating your own unique colors. Once the rice is dry you can use it to add texture to a drawing by gluing it onto your drawing using white glue. Create your own unique looking rainbow project. Remember to have fun.

What you will need:

1 cup of white rice

2 Tablespoons of water

Large freezer bag

Liquid food coloring

Parchment/wax paper

Baking sheet

Paper towel

What you need to do:

Scoop one cup of white rice into a freezer bag.

Pour 2 tablespoons of water and approximately 20 drops of food coloring into the freezer bag.

Mix together by gently squishing the freezer bag. Be careful to not pop the bag.

Pour your now colored rice on a baking sheet covered with parchment/wax paper.

Gently pat the rice dry with paper towel and leave it to dry overnight.

Once dry, enjoy your rainbow rice!!!
